Application GuideGPPA Application Information and Tips for Fall 2020UIC is a part of the Common Application for Undergraduate Admission! In order to apply to the GPPA programs, all applicants must complete the Common Application, complete the UIC First Year Supplement which includes the GPPA Application and the Honors College Application (where required for GPPA), and submit two letters of recommendation.DEADLINES FOR APPLICANTS. November 1, 2019 – Deadline for all GPPA programs. May 1, 2020 – Intent to Enroll deadline for student acceptance of UIC and GPPAApplications must be completed by the stated deadline. The application deadline is Midnight Eastern time (11pm Central) on the posted deadline date. Applicants are encouraged to submit their materials well in advance of the deadline. Submitting applications during business hours is also recommended so any technical issues can be addressed in a timely manner.A complete application includes the materials submitted via the Common Application, transcripts, and official test scores.

Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) GIAC Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA)Credential:Credentialing Agency:Renewal Period: 4 yearsThe Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA) certification targets individuals responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and monitoring a secure perimeter for any organization; including routers, firewalls, VPNs/remote access, and overall network design. The GPPA certification exam does not have any education or experience requirements. The GPPA certification replaces GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst (GCFW) certification as of 1 Jan 2014; this name change reflects the emerging requirements in perimeter security such as Cloud, mobile and virtualization.More information can be found on the certifying agency's.
